This is amazing! Though, there isn't much shading, it isn't needed! You are such a good artist! The few parts that needed shading were shaded, and it is a very emotional work. The colors and lines are so crisp and they flow together... somehow. How you do that?! The colors of the trees actually blend in with the brighter tan-ish color and the darker color. The few little light specks of grass were essential to show that grass IS there. The anatomy is almost perfect (for this work, it all fits), and the lights and darks all follow the same path. This just gives a huge impact of loneliness with a hint of happy. I love this. You are awesome at art.

Wow gosh, um. well, let me start off by saying that this is absolutely gorgeous! <3 I definitely think you should do more painting, because this is great!

So um. the first thing that immediately comes to mind is the character doesn't seem to be very well blended to the background. I mean, yes, I can see you made it rain on her slightly and grass covers her (and it's shaded accordingly), but she still looks a tiny bit out of place! maybe it's just me though- also the very left paw sticking out could have more grass? or the trees in front could be more opaque, it just bothers me for some reason (I'm sorry, not a very good critic or the best artist)

The second thing (that also ties in with the first) is that the whole thing appears very light with very little contrast! especially since the theme (dark forest+rainy) would probably call for a darker colour scheme. Though maybe this could just be a style thing, I think it would look better if there was more contrast! The character also has very little contrast and I can just barely make out the legs and such (making this look rather like a vector than a painting) so perhaps a little bit more contrast+maybe detail would be nice? also maybe more detail overall? Especially the rain, it looks barely there. Perhaps make it a little thinner and add multiple layers with varying thickness both in front of and behind the character! (but let me say this picture works rather well at selling the whole 'cutesy simple' sort of vector-ish kind of illustration).

The third thing is composition. I'm not an expert on this by any means and I'm really a beginner concerning composition, but perhaps a better place for the character to be placed would be somewhere other than the middle? and the image dimensions as well- perhaps more interest could be created if you exaggerated a little, maybe! 8)

Kudos to you on lowering the opacity on the vanishing tress though (omf I totally forgot what it was called), and the two trees in the foreground- it really makes a sense of atmosphere although perhaps I /did/ mention there could be an improvement in the contrast!

So um, wait, shading as well. It looks as if the light source (only looking at the character) would be from the top left, but some of the grass in the foreground is lit up as if from a light source directly above? but maybe that's just me, idk. Also let me stress again that I can't really see the shading very well; there is little contrast in the trees, grass, character, etc.

Next time, I suggest maybe working on the background overall together at the same time with the character to increase sense of atmosphere/lighting? Maybe you did but in the screenshot you sent me it was just the character x) so perhaps you could try that!

I think that's all I have, I'm sorry I'm not a very good critic- and sorry for the textwall/if it was too harsh! Apologies for any typos or things that don't make sense, I didn't proofread this :P

Anyways, I'll close up by saying that this is absolutely fantastic! <3 if you choose to pursue it I think you'd make a really great painter, you're very talented and I hope to see more work like this from you!

This is really good for a beginner :) (my first paintings were awful XD) I'm not very good at this critique thing so I've only written a little not enough for a full blown critique:
ok here goes!
It really depends on the look you're going for, but I've always found that the smaller the brush the more detail you show ( If that makes sense ^^; ) I normally paint shade my horses but I definetly haven't mastered it yet! Just keep working at it, use references and tutorials to help you master some new skills! It might not seem like much but a good reference and tutorial can really improve your art :)

I've gotta say, you've done an excellent job on this.

I love how smooth the lines are, the mood of it, the shading etc.

I just all works out so well.

However, )now this is just my opinion, I'm not the best critique, but I'm not bad either I don't think) the only thing that really has color is the wolf.

I mean the background and the two trees in the front practically have the same color.

I think the trees in the front should be a lot darker and the grass a little darker.

And you wanna make sure that the fur looks as if it is wet considering it is raining and such.

But thats all I can really say for this.

This is overall very nice work

I can't do a real critique because I don't have a membership sadly :c, but try to count this as a critique.
